How to cultivate innovation

EUMEPS is the association of European expanded polystyrene (EPS) manufacturers, bringing together over 1,000 SMEs across 23 national associations and covering the entire value chain, from production to finished products and their reintegration into new usage cycles.
Challenge
The challenge was to modernize EUMEPS’s brand identity to better reflect its strategic role in the expanded polystyrene industry and to strengthen its position as the voice of its members. The goal was to highlight the advantages of EPS and increase awareness of its performance in insulation, lightweight properties, and recyclability while enhancing EUMEPS’s credibility among policymakers, industry leaders, and partners.
Strategic Approach
We developed a brand strategy that emphasizes the qualities of EPS: a high-performance material optimized for increased energy efficiency and continuously improving recyclability. The objective was to position EUMEPS as a key player in research and innovation related to EPS while clarifying its messaging for stakeholders. The brand architecture was designed to affirm the industry’s commitment to developing more efficient solutions that address contemporary challenges.
Creative Solution
Naming: The name “EUMEPS” was retained to ensure continuity and recognition within the sector while being reinforced with a stronger identity and a clearer message highlighting the tangible benefits of EPS.
Design: The visual identity was crafted to reflect the modernity and adaptability of the material. The logo and graphic elements convey the continuous evolution of the industry, while the modern color palette and typography affirm EPS’s role in innovation and energy performance. The identity was deployed across various formats, from web design to institutional publications, as well as technical and promotional materials, ensuring clear and impactful communication.
