La gare – Het station

a bridge towards a dynamic journey

Belgium holds over 37 main national train stations where millions of passenger pass by every year to catch a train or as a transfer point from one place to another. The SNCB-Holding made a strong effort to bring to life those stations and transform them into fun and convivial meeting points with supermarkets, boutiques, press shops and restaurants, allowing train users to save time and have an enjoyable experience.

A new identity under the name of ‘la Gare – het Station’ was promptly needed to reflect all this energy and as identification point for all the main stations in the country. That identity also serves to transmit to the train-users the idea of a convivial and dynamic space where they can spend efficient time while waiting for their train.

The new identity is friendly and colorful. A clear reflection of what was already happening in the stations. It conveys ideas of protection, a bridge to the city, a meeting point, in other words, a new place opened in the city to welcome travelers and visitors.
